to the edge of the courtyard and I will come to your car.

CALL COMMITTEE The St. Luke Call Committee has completed its task, and
has recommended Rev. Jeffrey LeCrone to the St. Luke Church
Council, Subsequently, the Council met and has approved the Call Committee’s
recommendation. Regrettably, this process has taken much longer than anticipated
due to the Covid-19 situation. However, we are now in discussion with the Synod
to determine the best, and most expedient, way to finalize our selection. Soon, we
will be sending out a letter with more details. A special thanks to Rev. Jeff
LeCrone, and the members of the Call Committee for their participation and efforts
in this process. The Call Committee included Sally Labenberg, Becky Masden,
James Nau, Dave Bailey, Rod Strother, and Dan Lamade.
SEAFARERS 2020–What a success! We sent 47 satchels to the synod office for
Seafarers Christmas 2020. Each bag had a sweatshirt, a T-shirt, a knitted or
crocheted hat and cowl set, 3 pairs socks, a Christmas card and a jar of peanuts.
Thank you for your gifts for this project. 2021–Let’s do it again! January is a
good time to shop for sale, because of the after-Christmas sales. Needed are men’s
sweatshirts with or without a hood in sizes: MEDIUM, LARGE, OR EXTRA
LARGE ONLY; t-shirts, short or long sleeves, in sizes: MEDIUM, LARGE, OR
EXTRA LARGE ONLY (no seasonal, political, prints, thank you.) and three pairs
of men’s crew socks. Please put your donations in the box under the display table
in the west hallway, or in the box marked Seafarers in the vestibule outside Bell
hall. If you need someone to shop for you call Janet at 570-322-1151.
SHEPHERD OF THE STREETS Family sized hygiene items are always a
blessing and the Shepherd’s shelves are almost bare! A new collection basket is
now located in the Bell Hall glass vestibule (across from the office entrance)
for your donations, along with the basket in the West Hall. This continues to
be a necessary part of our Shepherd of the Streets ministry.
** PLEASE NOTE the Bell Hall glass vestibule (across from the office
entrance) doors are always open for your donations.
***UPDATE FROM THE FOOD PANTRY ***With the generous donations
that have been coming in from many churches our shelves are now well stocked.
We thank all the congregations still collecting donations for those in need and
suggest that if possible, donations now come in financially. This will allow us
more flexibility. We can purchase what we need as we need it, and not worry about
expiration dates. And you will be safer not having to be out shopping. Checks or
store gift cards can be sent to: United Churches (with memo – food pantry).
The address is 202 E. Third St., Williamsport PA 17701.
