CALL COMMITTEE The St. Luke Call Committee has completed its task, and has recommended Rev. Jeffrey LeCrone to the St. Luke Church Council, Subsequently, the Council met and has approved the Call Committee’s recommendation. Regrettably, this process has taken much longer than anticipated due to the Covid-19 situation. However, we are now in discussion with the Synod to determine the best, and most expedient, way to finalize our selection. Soon, we will be sending out a letter with more details. A special thanks to Rev. Jeff LeCrone, and the members of the Call Committee for their participation and efforts in this process. The Call Committee included Sally Labenberg, Becky Masden, James Nau, Dave Bailey, Rod Strother, and Dan Lamade.
SHEPHERD OF THE STREETS It’s February, time for Valentines, hearts and love. It’s also time to open our hearts to show love to our neighbors who are helped by the Shepherd of The Streets. People in our community are receiving medications and transportations to their medical appointments because of our gifts. Some are able to see clearly through the glasses that we helped them purchase. Very necessary gifts are the hygiene items that we donate: deodorant, baby diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo, baby powder, baby oil, Q-tips, soap, shampoo, shaving cream and razors, tissues, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, women’s hygiene products, combs, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, nail clippers, towels, and wash cloths.
These items are collected in the Bell Hall vestibule and in the West Hallway indoors. Monetary gifts are always appreciated, and can be mailed to St. Luke Lutheran Church with SOS on the memo line.
** PLEASE NOTE the Bell Hall glass vestibule (across from the office entrance) doors are always open for your donations.
***UPDATE FROM THE FOOD PANTRY ***With the generous donations that have been coming in from many churches our shelves are now well stocked. We thank all the congregations still collecting donations for those in need and suggest that if possible, donations now come in financially. This will allow us more flexibility. We can purchase what we need as we need it, and not worry about expiration dates. And you will be safer not having to be out shopping. Checks or store gift cards can be sent to: United Churches (with memo – food pantry). The address is 202 E. Third St., Williamsport PA 17701.
Ash Wednesday (February 17, 7:00pm) In-person service and live-streamed service. Ashes will be administered via Q-tip, or a similar method. For those worshipping online, two options for receiving ashes will be available:
