Covid Update from the St. Luke Executive Committee:  According to the CDC, Lycoming County has had crossed the threshold into “substantial transmission”. The CDC now recommends universal indoor masking in Lycoming County regardless of vaccination status, and as the St. Luke executive committee, we continue to recommend following the CDC guidelines. More information on the CDC recommendation for fully vaccinated people can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html.

We continue to gather for in person worship and encourage all who are able, to join us on Sunday mornings. Finally, we are committed to the needs of all members of our congregation, therefore virtual worship will continue until further notice.

ST. LUKE’S HANDBELLS Are you interested in playing handbells? Anyone is invited to join the handbell choir. No experience is necessary, but knowledge of music is helpful.  All that is required is a desire to have fun, a willingness to make a joyful noise to the Lord and the ability to attend weekly rehearsals. Rehearsals will be held Thursday evenings at 6:30pm in the nave. If interested, please sign up on the sheet located in the West Hall.

WEIS 4 SCHOOL PROGRAM The Pre-School at St. Luke is partnering up with Weis Market in the Weis 4 School program. This program can earn money for the Pre-School at St. Luke simply by shopping as you do every day. Please pick up a flyer in the West Hall for more information. Take one for a friend!

2021 POINSETTIA ORDERSPoinsettias are $10 each and will be on a per-order basis. They can be placed as a memorial or honorarium using the coupon insert. Please pay with the coupon and place in an envelope marked “Poinsettias” and return them via the offering plate or church office by Monday, November 29th. Thank you.

CHRISTMAS DONATIONS NEEDED for filling the Christmas bags for our St. Luke shut-in’s and friends. A box will be located in the West wing for your donations. Suggested items: Juice boxes, tissues, small notepads, hand lotion, ChapStick, hard candies, individual packs of crackers or snack items and handmade cookies. Anyone interested in helping pack and or deliver bags are invited to meet in Bell Hall Tuesday, Dec. 7th at 2:00pm.

ADVENT MIDWEEKSERVICES

In continuation from last year, the current plan is to hold the Advent Midweek Services online again this year.  This is not so much a pandemic precaution as much as it is an anticipation of attendance.  If you would like to attend in-person services, please reach out to Pastor Jeff.  With a sufficient response, the decision may be reversed.  As it is, we will broadcast an Advent Midweek Prayer Service every Wednesday during the season at 7:00PM on the Facebook page, starting Wednesday, December 1.  

2022 OFFERING ENVELOPES may be picked up at the back of the nave, starting Sunday, November 28th. Please note, your offering envelope may have changed. For pickup: If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Young at the church office.

ST. LUKE ANNUAL MEETING of the Congregation, Part One will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021, following the 10:30AM worship service. A copy of the Agenda and the 2022 Budget will be available in the back of the nave; and for pick up, outside the church office door, in the glass foyer, starting Nov. 28th. If you would like a mailed copy, please call the church office.

JOB OPENINGSt. Luke is seeking to fill the position of Financial Secretary. This is a part-time position whose hours may be arranged as desired. The position description is available from the church office. If interested, please complete the standard application (available from the office) and attach a resume. Thank you.

HOSPITAL Pleasecontact Sarah Young at the church office (570-323-7309) if you or a family member are in the hospital or are ill. Pastor Jeff is available for visits or phone calls, and at your request, Sarah will then contact our prayer chain leaders.

FLOWERS AFTER THE SUNDAY SERVICE? If you donated Altar flowers for Sunday, please feel free to take them home after the late service, or pick up on Monday during office hours. Vases are available in the work sacristy to make smaller bouquets, if you like.

COMMUNION PREPARATION AND CLEAN- UP If you would be willing to prepare and clean-up (no glass cups to wash) Holy Communion, either at our 8:00am or 10:30am services, once every couple months, please contact Mary Jane Webster at: 570-322-8647 or notify the church office.

SHEPHERD OF THE STREETS Family sized hygiene items are always a blessing and the Shepherd’s shelves. Collection baskets are located in the Bell Hall glass vestibule (across from the office entrance) for your donations, along with the basket in the West Hall. This continues to be a necessary part of our Shepherd of the Streets ministry. The list follows:
