                   What Lutherans Believe
Through his ministry, death and resurrection, Christ has saved us from "sin, death, and the power of the devil." God's gift of faith in Christ's saving power makes that saving power effective for us. In joy and freedom, we respond to God's grace with praise and thankful service.

PIE NIGHT Why not try this season's Pie Night ? The group starts this Wednesday, April 26th through May and then Thursday nights in the summer at 7 PM. We'll most likely meet in the church lounge. The topic will be Healing. Our first book is Healing in the Landscape of Prayer by Avery Brooke (books to be ordered in mid-April.) That segment of the season will be followed by the highly acclaimed Being Mortal, by Atul Gawande. You'll enjoy these gentle times of instrospection.

EARLY RISERS BIBLE STUDY Early Risers Bible study at the Christian Light Bookstore café, 1009 Washington Blvd., will meet on the dates below. All are welcome. Monday, May 1, 7AM (Galatians 1:12-2:21); Monday, June 5 (Galatians 3:1-4:31); Monday, June 12 (Galatians 5:1-6:10); Monday, July 3 (Galatians 6:11-18)

ATTENTION ST. LUKE FAMILIES Our last day of Sunday School will be on May 21st--Let's celebrate!!! Please join us for a pool party at the YMCA in Muncy immediately following the church service from 12:15pm-2:15pm (You might want to have your towels and suits with you so that you don't have to drive home after church.) We will swim first and then enjoy some pizza, drinks, and snacks. Please sign up on the west entrance bulletin board so that we know how much food we need. There is no fee for this event. We hope to see you there!

THE EASTER SEASON LASTS 50 DAYS We celebrate the entire season. The 40th day of the season, when Jesus ascended into heaven, is the church holiday of Ascension. This year, United Churches will sponsor an Ascension Service on the 40th day, Thursday, May 25th. It will be held at Redeemer Lutheran church, 1101 Washington Blvd., at 7 PM. Save the date, plan to attend and mark the season, which ends on Pentecost Sunday, June 4th.
